Brain teasers and logic puzzles are broad terms used to describe puzzles and games that tantalize and challenge the mind.  They include kids puzzles, difficult 3d puzzles, metal tavern puzzles also called wire disentanglement puzzles and very difficult third dimension mechanical puzzles. These puzzles involve thinking.  When this mental activity challenges cognitive abilities to function outside conventional constraints of the mind, the brain is motivated to seek unconventional solutions. Neurosensors that have been unused begin to fire and the result can be an elevated awareness.  This is good for the mind and can help with understanding and problem solving.

Medical science has made it clear that certain activities, or more specifically the lack of them, can harm cognitive abilities.  Good diet and exercise habits reduce the likelihood you'll develop high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, all of which can decrease blood flow to your brain.  Tobacco use generates free radicals that impair the message transfer process (neuron to neuron) within the brain.  Abuse of alcohol not only impairs the message transfer process in the same manner as smoking, but also causes the destruction of brain cells.  Stress causes your body to pump out increased levels of the hormone cortisol. Excessive cortisol levels can lead to the destruction of neurons in the hippocampus (the learning and memory center of the brain).

While not harming your cognitive function is important, when was the last time you were given methods to actually enhance your cognitive abilities?  It is a long standing fact that staying mentally engaged by working, volunteering, reading, doing crossword puzzles, brain teasers and logic puzzles can keep you sharp and even make you more astute.  Our 3d wooden brain teasers and logic puzzles are proven to enhance cognitive functions.

When we improve cognitive functions, we increase the ability to process information more quickly, improve decision making, increase multi-tasking abilities, improve memory, learn faster, and better develop the ability to concentrate amongst distractions.  This results in faster physical reflexes and sharper visual discrimination (the messages sent from our eyes are interpreted and assembled by the region of the brain called the visual cortex).

What does this mean to you?

    • Have you ever wished you could be a little quicker, a little sharper mentally?

    • Is your stress level rising due to the need (both at work and home) to perform multiple tasks simultaneously?
    • Do you wish you could concentrate better in the presence of distractions?
    • Do you wish you could concentrate better in the presence of distractions?
    • Would faster physical reflexes and sharper visual discrimination serve you well on the ballfield or tennis court or basketball court? How about behind the wheel of your car?
    • Is it critical at times for you to be at your mental best (a big meeting, an examination, a job interview)?
